A lot of people ask about my skincare routines and I just figured why not share my daytime and nighttime routine? Since I’m writing this late at night, here’s my routine:
First things first. A good shower requires really good soap! I have really sensitive skin so I like to stick to brands like Dove or Olay, but my absolute favorite that I’m using right now is Sabon’s Kiwi Mango Glycerin soap. It literally leaves your skin super duper soft and clean!
Not going in detail about my full shower because it literally depends on the day. Next is after-shower. As soon as I get out I like to use my ‘Para mi Bebe’ baby cologne in the Violet bottle, apply it and pat it on to my skin. It has the most precious, clean, baby scent so I like to use it as soon as I get out that way I can smell fresh for bed.
Next is lotion! My favorite lotion in the world is Ambi’s creamy oil lotion. It’s literally godsend for your skin. It feels like what your skin would feel like after applying rose water but in a lotion form. It also helps even out your skin tone!
Now it’s time for facial skin care. Depending on what kind of night it is, I’ll either exfoliate my face with St. Ives apricot scrub (holy grail) and apply my Fresh Rose face mask. If it’s a night where I don’t need extra cleansing, I’d wash my face with my soap in the shower and then apply my Josie Maran Argan oil. Argan oil is so good for your skin. It helps clear up imperfections and helps get rid of acne and fast!
Looking alive and awake everyday is important. So after I use my oil I like to go ahead and use my ‘Simple’ revitalizating eye roll-on. I literally roll it on twice on each eye and then gently rub it in. I never look tired after a long night of staying up!
If I feel my face is looking rough or I have too much acne scarring, I’ll use my dermaroller. For those who don’t know what it is, here is a short summary from Michelle Phan’s beauty blog about the dermaroller.
“Micro needling involves rolling a Derma Roller with hundreds of little needles across your face and lips to stimulate collagen growth. The needles, when gently pressed against your skin with even pressure, create tiny punctures. This, in turn, activates your self-healing mechanisms and rejuvenates the rolled skin. Micro needling sounds torturous, but I promise it’s not. And it has been known to diminish issues like wrinkles, stretch marks, acne scars and shrinking lips.”
I basically use it once a month or once a week depending on how bad my skin is. First I soak it in alcohol for about an hour (due to prior use) and the I go ahead and wash my face and roll it on all my problem areas. Then apply a Vitamin C oil. The pain isn’t as intense as you think it is. 6 out of 10 would bethe pain level. This is a genius holy grail product that I think every person with acne scarring problems should use. (The redness is perfectly normal btw)
Last but not least, and don’t judge me!!!! But I like to wear deodorant to bed. I don’t know that’s just how I roll. But I use Dove’s deodorant body spray in Lemongrass and Grapefruit. This is literally the best deodorant in the world. It leaves no white marks and leaves you smelling fresh all day and night!
