A lot of people have been asking how I do my natural makeup and honestly I’m so down to explain how I do it.
First let’s get into skincare. Skincare is so important, so always start with a fresh face! I like to use simple products that I know are natural and have some type of healthy benefit to my skin. I wash my face with Fresh’s Soy face cleanser for all skin types. You can get this from Sephora or any Fresh store for like $38 dollars. This cleanser is really good for my skin. It tightens up my face and closes my pores. I wash with warm water to open my pores and rinse with cold water to close my pores.
Then I pat my face dry with a cotton towel and moisturize my face with Ambi’s Soft and Even creamy oil lotion. This lotion is really beneficial for skin types that are usually really dry and patchy. I have oily skin and it doesn’t clog up my pores or bring any extra unwated oil. It leaves your skin extra soft and looking really even after two weeks. It’s actually kind of like using rose water, that’s what it feels like. You can get it at your local pharmacy orconvenience store for under $10.
Now were on to protection from my makeup. A lot of people don’t use primers or think it’s silly to use one. IT IS NOT! I’m telling you primers are super important for not only protecting your skin from makeup clogging up your pores, it leaves a beautiful smooth base that allows your makeup to look flawless. I use Benefit’s Porefessional Primer. I got this from sephora for $31.
Now we’re on to foundation, I hate having heavy anything on my face unless I’m going out. I use Nar’s All day luminous weightless foundation in the shade “Tahoe.”I bought it at Sephora for $48. Pretty pricey but totally worth it. I shake the bottle and pump once on the back of my hand. I then put a dot of foundation on my forehead, a dot on each of my cheeks and then my chin. Then i go ahead and use my Morphe M439 buffer brush ($10 at Ricky’s) and blend the foundation on my face in a circular motion.
Now that i’m done with my skin, it’s time for brows! My eyebrows aren’t as dark as I would like them to be so I go ahead and use a NYX tinted brow mascara ($7) in the shade “brown black.” I go ahead and let that dry and go ahead and use my dipbrow pomeade by ABH ($18) in the shade “dark brown” as well. I go ahead and lightly fill and shape my eyebrows with my #12 brush from ABH. ($18) Afterwards depending on how I feel, I’ll clean up my brow with my Too Faced ‘born this way’ concealer. ($28)
Now it’s time for contour and highlight. I like to highlight my face with an actual highlighter and a fan brush first. I love giving myself the glow before the bronzer. I use an old ass maybelline face studio master Hi-Light highliter in the shade “Light bronze” ($10-$11) its supposed to be a highlight/bronzer but this shade is more of a highlight. I then spray my Morphe M588 detailed fan brush ($4) for an extra shine when I apply it and swipe it across the highest point of my cheekbones until i have reached a desired amount of highlight.
Next is my bronzer/blush. I use Too Faced sunny Bunny bronzer ($30) and apply it under my highlight, and on the corners of my fairly large forehead. I also take a square eyeshadow brush and contour the sides of my nose blend and then apply a liquid highlighter (NYX liquid highlight $7) to the tip of my nose. If i’m feeling like I want a pop of color on my cheeks I’ll grab my Nars Orgasm blush ($22 for the bronzer and blush duo) and apply it to the apples of my cheeks.
I like to apply mascara after I set my face because the setting spray will wet it and make it messy. I then apply my all time favorite mascara which is Stila’s Huge Extreme Lash mascara ($23 at ulta) I kid you not it’s better than the Better than Sex mascara. Last but not least my lips! I wear the same lip color everyday I swear. But I live by NYX’s lip liner pencil in the color “Natural.” It gives such a cute pouty ‘i just got my lips done‘ feel.
Hope this really helped you guys! and any product I use is my absolute holy grail so I’m sure if you purchase it, you’ll love it to!
